PRE AND POST ASSESSMENT TESTS

 

There are two Pre and two Post Assessment Tests for each of the three grade levels. 

The Pre and Post Assessment Tests are administered at the beginning and end of every 8 units. 

Over 115 phonic skills can be examined through the administration of these tests.

The purpose of these tests is to diagnose and evaluate decoding ability and to assist the teacher in placing and advancing students in the Reading Sparkers® Motivational Reading Program™ for Grades 1, 2, and 3. These tests are indispensable tools in helping teachers manage an effective and practical instructional program for each one of their students.

The Reading Sparkers® Pre and Post Phonic Assessment Tests are specifically developed for use with the: Original 48 Printed Phonic Gameboards, Reading Sparkers® Online Games and all of the other components of the Reading Sparkers® Motivational Reading Program™ for Grades 1, 2,and 3.

Reading Sparkers® feels that the Pre and Post Assessment tests are a differentiating feature of our program and are so important that they are available in printed form and are also integrated in the Reading Sparkers Online® games.

By using the Pre Assessment Tests,

the Teacher can -

  • Diagnose phonic skill deficiencies
  • Decide at which unit in the program the student should begin instruction
  • Customize the learning curriculum for each student in the Reading Sparkers Online program

By using the Post Assessment Tests,

the Teacher can -

  • Evaluate which units and phonic skills have been mastered
  • Determine which units (if any) need to be reviewed for a second time
  • Program Reading Sparkers® Online to present specific units to a student for a second time
